God's Reflection
What is this image I see?
Who is this looking back at me?
I don't know just what He sees in me.
Please help me understand. Can this really be God's reflection?
When I look into the mirror, what is it I see?
Why is it so hard to love the face staring back at me?
I've been told that I'm not worthy, that there's nothing I can be.
And with the way that God's made me, who could ever truly love me?
These feelings nearly overwhelm me,
For I've struggled even to love myself.
But perhaps one glimpse through God's looking glass
Will reveal a beauty I've never seen within myself.
What is this image I see?
Who is this looking back at me?
I don't know just what He sees in me.
Please help me understand. Can this really be God's reflection?
I know the cruel words they spoke to you,
The lies that made you question all you could ever do.
They told you that you weren't worthy,
That your dreams could never come true.
But you're not what others have declared,
Nor defined by the burdens you've had to bear.
For God has fashioned you with purpose and care,
And in His eyes, your beauty's always been there.
God says you're beautiful.
Just look into the mirror.
See His reflection.
His love becoming clearer.
You are wonderfully made,
A reflection of His creation.
Not defined by imperfection,
But fashioned with divine intention.
What is this image I see?
Who is this looking back at me?
I begin to understand what He sees in me.
Could this truly be God's reflection?
God, is this the image I see?
Can I finally see You looking back at me?
Now I understand what You've always seen in me.
The worth I thought was missing was never mine to earn.
It was there within Your love, waiting for me to learn.
And now, at last, it's clear to see.
God's reflection.
